Watch Out for This Dating Scam
Posted by Syd Tash under Alerts
A new scam has surfaced on Russian dating sites. Believe it or not, a bot or piece of software imitates a real person on these sites, and establishes relationships with users. They are so good that it is hard to tell you are interacting with a computer and not a warm-blooded person.
The aim of these programs is probably to get your confidential data, and then to steal your identity. Or it may refer you to malicious sites that will infect or damage your PC.
This scam may soon spread to other countries and online dating sites. So be on your guard. Do not reveal your sensitive info or any personally identifiable data, unnecessarily. Minimize the amount of data you reveal, when you do give it out.
Above all, do not give out your birth date or Social Insurance/Security Number online, or to anyone offline for that matter, other than your employer, bank, government agency or the like.

My Top Tip for revenge on scammers
I have found that scammers, tend to use yahoo as their mail system of choice. I have also noticed thay the scammer often uses the same password for their email account as they do to set you the account on your site. So for fun, I log into their yahoo mail account and change their password, that sets them back a little. have fun…
