Back on Feb. 5, I told you about those Insignia digital picture frames sold by Best Buy that come complete with a virus.

Now a new, much more sophisticated called Mocmex has been found on these , along with other, less dangerous malware. Mocmex can block many antivirus programs, and download and hide files on your computer. It has been used only to steal game passwords, to date. But of course it could be used for much more damaging ends in the future.

In addition to Best Buy, Costco, Sam’s Club and Target have apparently sold these . They were distributed/made by Advanced Design Systems and Uniek, as well as Insignia. The danger of these frames is that when you connect them to your computer to load up pictures, your PC becomes infected.

If you have one of these frames, here are some numbers to call:

Best Buy: 877-467-4289
Costco: 800-955-2292
Sam’s Club: 888-746-7726
Target: 800-591-3869

Google will soon begin it’s previously announced health service trial at a clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. It will store and manage the of up to 10,000 people who have volunteered for the new service. The files will be protected by a password.

Nevertheless, the project raises serious issues. Some believe too much information is being concentrated in Google’s hands. introduced a similar service last year, called HealthVault. co-founder Steve Case is backing another service called Revolution Health.

Privacy watchdogs worry that the information in the new services is not covered by federal laws and guidelines regarding medical records. It could therefore be easier for a third party to obtain the records, or to use them for marketing purposes.
