I have often mentioned to you not to download anything from the Internet unless you really need it and will use it, and it is from a trusted, known source.

If you are going to download a file, update all your security programs first, including Windows. Create a if you like. Read a bit about Restore Points in this article I wrote about , right here: http://mypcsecurityblog.com/updates/should-you-update-your-drivers
Then download the file, and run all your security scans.

If you are not sure whether to trust the source, go to http://www.virustotal.com and have the file analyzed with up to two dozen antivirus programs. This will increase your confidence in it considerably!

Feb. 12 was Patch Tuesday, with Microsoft releasing 11 security that fixed 17 flaws in Windows, Internet Explorer, Office, Word and other programs. If you have not updated your computer yet, do it now.
