The other day when I told you about that Firefox update, I said it included the very last patch for Firefox 2.0, because Mozilla was going to retire it in favour of Firefox 3.0. Well, it turns out there was this little snafu.

Because of a “clerical error”, , publisher of Firefox, did not include one of the fixes in the update for Firefox 2.0.0.19. So the whole update will be reissued as version 2.0.0.20 any time now, hopefully with all the correct repairs.

The Mac and Linux versions of 2.0.0.19 were OK. It was just the Windows version that suffered the omission. Mozilla says there are no known exploits for the patch in question, so it may not be too serious.

But if you have Firefox 2.0, look for updates over the next 2 – 3 days.

This will definitely be the last patch for Firefox 2.0, supposedly. So you really should update to Firefox 3.0, sometime soon.
